The aquaero is an absolutely autonomous working microprocessor-controlled device with USB 2.0 interface. All speed parameters and sensor values can be set and visualized in an user-friendly menu or through an even easier to use PC-software. Additionally, the graphic LC display can be used to display almost any information using the popular LCD software LCDHype.

Several aqua computer products can be used to expand the functionality of the aquaero 6 controller. These expansions are dynamically mapped into the menus and display pages of the aquaero, creating a consitent control system rather than individual devices.
In maximum configuration, the following devices can be connected to an aquaero 6 simultaneously:
2x aquastream XT pumps
8x poweradjust 2/3
1x aquaero 5 LT (in this case only 4x poweradjust 2/3)
4x mps based devices (flow sensor, pressure/fill level sensor and D5 pump with aquabus)
The XT variant comes with the remote control, has touch sensitives buttons and also four more below the display that can be programmed as shortcuts to jump into specific menus. The three main keys are illuminated and the display comes with an additional protective glass. From a technical point of view the XT and PRO have exactly the same features and technical specfications since the main controller board of both is exactly the same.
There are two way to extend the amount of fan channel. Each poweradjust 3 (standard verison is enough) will act as an additional fan output. Up to eight of these devices can be attached to the aquaero. The second way is using an aquaero 5 or 6 LT(!) as slave device. It will provide four fan outputs and four temperatur sensor ports in addition. When a slave device is connected, only four poweradjust devices can be connected in addition. In other words the maximum amount of fan outputs can not exceed 12.
I would ask shoggy on one of many forums ( aquacomputer, OCN or any of MANY others he is active on) but i dont see why they would not work, but imo the extra display is USELESS and would probably be disabled
