This adapter is handy for any modern PSU you recently purchased that needs an extra 8-pin PCI Express cable connection such as for the new Nvidia and ATI video cards. Cable is 12 long or can be optionally modified to a shorter 6 length. Not for use for motherboard 8-pins!
