A backplate ensures greater stability and better optics
This is a backplate for TechN heatsinks RTX 2080- and 2080 Ti . It can only be used in conjunction with a suitable GPU cooler from TechN . The backplate is screwed onto the back of the pixel accelerator, covers it completely and forms an optical unit with the heat sink. Since the back of the graphics card is usually turned upwards and is therefore clearly visible in the housing, a visual upgrade is much more effective here than on the front of the graphics card.
The optimized screw arrangement results in a reduced design: the remaining screws disappear under the TechN backplate . Milled, then blasted from a block of aluminum and anodized, the backplate increased additionally, the cooling performance by the pre-loaded thermal pads.
In addition to the optical unit, the backplate offers increased stability for the graphics card with water cooler. This effectively prevents the PCB from bending due to one-sided tightening of the screws when attaching the main cooler and is therefore permanently exposed to tension.
