Pump top and reservoir in one offers many advantages: Easy mounting, compact dimensions and optically appealing design! All these features are implemented into the new Alphacool Repack at the highest level. But Alphacool would not be Alphacool, if this new product would not also have some extremely interesting new features, which were not available until now!
Designed for installation in a vacant 5.25” drive bay, this reservoir allows compact installation and is a great addition to the front of your enclosure. Connection to the reservoir can be achieved via the implemented ¼Â” threads for maximum compatibility and flexibility.
Construction-wise, this reservoir is also a great piece of hardware: Extra-strong Plexi increases stability of the reservoir and ensures extra rigidity. Filling can be done via the 3/8” thread in the front third of the reservoir, which is sealed with a black nickel plated screw plug during operation. By simply pulling the reservoir forward from the drive bay, it can be filled easily. Make it even easier for yourself by connecting a Fillport! Installation of the reservoir is done just like mounting on an optical drive, making it quick and easy for any user!
Pump installation: The reservoir is designed for installation of one Laing DDC pump. Both 1Plus and 1T models can be installed, the important thing is that the pump is equipped with the original top, and here one without threads. The pump is now inserted into the reservoir with the connection openings first, then attached to a mounting plate and is now both mounted and decoupled! Advantage: As the pump itself does not need to be modified for installation, no warranty is voided.
Decoupling: The two openings into which the connection openings of the pump are inserted are equipped with a conical gasket. This does not ensure safety and a tight seal, it also decoupled the pump in this location. The second contact point of the pump is an included rubber sheet. It is cut perfectly to size for the pump and ensures that vibrations are eliminated in this location as well!
Anti Cyclon: The solution to the „reservoir cylcone“ problem in this reservoir is based on proven designs, but has been refined: Due to the compact dimensions, and the power oft he pump, filling of such small reservoirs i soften a hassle. But the Alphacool Repack has special anti-cylcone “bridges” over the inlet and outlet, shaped like a box with two open sides. This ensures that the coolant uses all of the surface of the reservoir to de-aerate, preventing bubbles from being sucked in. Even the inlet has been equipped with such a deflector, allowing quick filling without the risk of air being sucked into the cooling loop.
Design: The front of the reservoir, the component which mainly remains visible after installation, is just beautiful to look at: Plexi, Acetal and a fill level indicator in combination with the typical Alphacool copper create a truly elegant design. Lighting is the next step towards a perfect system: At the rear of the reservoir, three 5mm LEDs can be inserted.
Modular design: All Alphacool Repack Bayres of the second revision feature a modular design. This means that a standard of this reservoir can be rebuilt to e.g. a pump reservoir. Different pump reservoirs can also be made compatible with other pump types, or be transformed into a standard reservoir. This is possible, as the reservoir is not glued together at the back, but rather screwed together and sealed by a gasket.
